Mempercantik Penampilan GNU/Linux (KDE Desktop)

Maybe there are many of you para pengguna GNU/Linux yang mengeluhkan about appeareance of their kde desktop yang hanya begitu-begitu doang and there’s nothing special on it. You have tried various ways to change it such as rotate standard wallpaper/background or change theme etc. Although overall desktop appeareance has changed but it’s like you need something new to refresh your mind. For that reason you can try software which make desktop full of funny and attractive accessories.

Yeah, you can use (Super)Karamba. If you have used KDE then kemungkinan besar (Super)Karamba has been installed on your harddisk. Kalau pun belom, you can easily find it in Sourceforge.net or another site. (Super)Karamba is user friendly (at least for me). You just need to download various (Super)Karamba themes provided by Kde-look.org (maybe other site juga bisa). After you finished donwload, you can extract (Super)Karamba theme to any folder on your Linux partition. I advice you to make particular folder for all (Super)Karamba themes so you can maintain it easily. Pay attention that (Super)Karamba will lost if you restart your KDE Desktop so it’s better place your (Super)Karamba theme on your desktop.

In this article I will show you how to add (Super)Karamba theme to your desktop. I have got (Super)Karamba theme named Islamic-Prayer. It will help me to show schedule of prayer times (for moslem). You just need to extract ZIP archive and find out file with extention “.theme”. Double click to that file and (Super)Karamba will automatically open it. You will see prayer time for Mecca. When (Super)Karamba is opening then you will find a new icon on KDE systray (there’s a blue icon).

You can make change on this theme (Islamic-Prayer) by clicking (right click) above it in desktop. From desktop you just can move this theme from one side to others. If you want to make more changing, you should do it from Konsole/Terminal.

With (Super)Karamba on your desktop, then KDE will more colorfull and attractive. You can add your (Super)Karamba themes by dowloading them from internet. There are so many themes provided and ready to download. Happy with your KDE!!!
